0017 The Software Working Group is coordinating an [Expression of
0018 Interest](https://www.bnl.gov/eic/EOI.php) for Software. In the
0019 Expression of Interest, we would like to leverage everyone’s
0020 experience to define requirements for EIC Software and identify common
0021 software projects based on these requirements.

0023 Based on the discussion of our [first
0024 meeting](https://indico.bnl.gov/event/9170/), we have prepared an
0025 outline. The outline includes common project areas that the community
0026 has identified thus far. All are welcome to declare their interest,
0027 extend the list of projects, and contribute to the
0028 writeup. Contributions can be made directly to the [outline
0029 document](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nqs2rTH4K8oM9KTpkWfyxOQReRXWnTNfmyuQu-VHbSo/edit?usp=sharing)
0030 as it evolves into a full draft, under the editorship of the SWG
0031 conveners.

0033 The Expression of Interest will cover all components of EIC Software:
0034 Simulation, reconstruction, physics analyses, streaming readout,
0035 online monitoring, etc., and will include emerging technologies such
0036 as AI and possibly Quantum Computing.
